For serial, though, they is only going to change it to make it work better with your body/skin. If they are halfway good, they'll explain any differences and you'll be able to see for yourself. You gots to trust that they know their art as well as you know yours

Re: Tattoos
Gonna be getting a star tatt very soon in memory of my lost friend. That'll make 2 commemorative tatts. Hopefully I won't be getting inked again for a long long time after this one.

I couldn't bring myself to comment on them. There's no way I could lie and say it looked good. One of the most horrid designs i've ever seen, poorly placed, and the actual inking is just woeful.

Re: Tattoos
the perspective is all wrong.
the green things look like strange animals and the petals conjure sparse purple pubic hair.
you could tell her that?

Re: Tattoos
GK - you will be happy to know i have thought long about this, and you are right, i should book into a proper tattoo artist type dude and just do the waiting rather than the spontaneous.
so recommend away, was it Tattoo Magic that was good? and who from there?
i want to fix up a tatt if that makes a diff?

Re: Tattoos
hi lady...
tattoo majick is good but my loyalties lie with Eternal Instinct on St Georges Rd in Northcote.
All of the artists there are good, but Craig Deuce is my guy.
What are you covering and what kind of thing do you want? I may be able to reccommend someone specific...
I think its best if you go in there and spend some time looking through the folios, then pick the artist you think will 'get' the idea of what you want best. Ask for Craig and tell him I sent you, then you can chat about who might be best if its not him.
cover ups are a head fuck, no doubt about it, but they can be done well, i think mine worked out great.
good luck lady! excited for you...

Re: Tattoos
okay cool, will give em a call.
its a tattoo of a lizard which i wanted and in the spot, but the actual design and the dude who did it was not very good. i want to make it all black and thinner, and then do shading that looks like the lizard is lying in sand (sort of). so shade from black to grey to white all around the lizard.
does that make sense?

Re: Tattoos
yup, makes sense...
depending on what you are covering though!
pm me a photo of it now mebbe?
def reccommend those guys tho...
edit - you say you want it thinner, but the whole thing will have to be bigger to cover up, then the actual legs and stuff can be thinner than your current design...right?

nice one lady! he is a real nice guy, mad skills with both spray paint and ink gun.
what does he have to do to my shoulder? um? hehehe he loves inflicting pain on me.
hope he makes it better than you have even imagined it, he designed my lower leg ink, did 3 awesome designs, and its hands down my favorite one ever.

Re: Tattoos
i read about the guy with the chair tattoo, it was designed by a seminal furniture designer in the 60's, all that bahaus kind of stuff...
he said he loved the lines of the chair so much, he thought it was the essence of perfect design, so why not get it inked?
its been done really well...
i saw ink the other day that made me want cleanskin again it was so amazing.
a friend of mine is testing the peramiters of what can be done, and i have to say, i was speechless.
his designs are incredibly intricate, multicoloured, topographical maps with all the tiny lines and colours and large pictures of beautifully shaded bugs and flies that live in the region over the top.
a woman makes and sells the art he is using at rose st art markets, and he and his tattooist, have created ink the likes of which i have never seen before.
so detialed, so beautiful, they are using needles of a thinner gage than anyone has ever used in the western world that they know of.
and so different to anything i have ever seen. and every tattoo shop he went to said 'it cant be done'.
my perception of good body art has totally changed since seeing his arm the other day. amazement.
