This brought the LOL's for me this morning...

you know how Krispy Kreme, Starbucks and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream are rewarding people for voting with free coffee's etc? Well a new maverick businessman's come up with a better incentive.

Free sex toys.

DEMOCRATS LEADING IN INDIANA BY 2.1 PER CENT. (only 1 per cent counted)

previously held by Republicans with a 10.4 per cent lead.

An 12.5 per cent swing! GOOD LORD.

O BA MA!

O BA MA!

O BA MA!

i have watched more politics in the last couple weeks than i have in my life.
I am seriously emotional at the thought of what this election means to so many over there.
even if mc cain gets in, every oppressed black, especially young men who are the main demographic in jails, will know that sometimes in america, truly anything can be possible.

stray, if your reading this, i may live in OZ for the rest of my life, but ill always be a yank.

Needs 270 to win. Surely that would have to be in the bag considering how many states still left to count

yeah. most of the eastern seaboard is obama territory (think new england, ny, etc). then you start to get the red states coming in about an hour later (but not as much mccain as you'd suspect!). then more red, red, red. then some more obama territory (california, oregon, maybe washington) comes in 3h after the east. (no-one cares about alaska or hawaii.)

Besides, it will be interesteing just how much "change" Obama actually brings once he gets in that office.

its a bit like rudd vs howard.
ruddie hasn't exactly moved mountains, but he hasn't blown any more up either.

the sorry was the most important thing hes done so far, but dayum, was that overdue.

im hoping obama will do what he says, or at least some of, but fuck me, its gotta be better than staying in afganistan for 100 years (mc cain actually said that!)

 at following that statement with a negative remark. But yes, it will be interesting and i dont think anyone considers Obama a revolutionary, nor that any kind of real change could happen with in the existing framework. But, I think it is symbolic. It is a black man in the white house. Something no one thought would happen only 2 or 3 decades ago. It is against the conservative grain that makes middle American ideology so scary. It is a move away from the Bush rhetoric that has given the US a bad name globally. It is a positive step in my opinion. Symbolically at least, and symbols are representative of something, and something something something. oh damn, my brain cracked open again.
