Elementz & Tekstep present KLUTE 6th June
I don't know any other scene where people would complain about seeing established and talented DJs play. Guys who have put in the years and years of work to get to where they are today.
I couldn't count the number of times i've seen 1LC, Trooper, Ronl' etc play and i never, ever get sick of it because they are so damn talented.
I'm sorry we haven't booked any up and comers at this gig, but it was originally the Tekstep gig and we've just retained the line up from that. Plus we think the guys playing are the ones for the job.
That being said, there might be a surprise guest at this one.

I haven't seen these cats play in ages, looking forward to it!dust wrote:

I agree with you though, it's a nice amalgamation of both parties. Besides, that "Klute" bloke doesn't get up to mix too often, nice to see him getting a gig for once!

that's what i meant too.ac23 wrote:I meant Promotors actually giving a toss whats said on here coz in my experience this website doesn't mean anything in relation to getting people down to a club or the attitude of people at a night.witty_pseudonym wrote:ac23 wrote:hahahahahahaha fucking melbourne beats
i'm amazing some promoters even bother.
On the other hand, If you don't like how a promotor runs a night.
Then do it the way you think it should be done - yourself.
my few words provided zero context.
...
Personally I can't submit music to the vagaries of the type of ADD that currently exists among music consumers nowadays, indeed that seems to reign over most of the modern world. It's saved my life too many times in the past and no doubt will again in the future and I thank every musician/promoter/dj who's given their blood, sweat and tears for their art (which lets face it, is exactly what it takes), no matter what my subjective opinion of their actual work may be.
An insatiable hunger for the supposedly original is laughable anyway considering almost every thought, word and deed has likely had a precedent by now. Stockhausen's Symphony for 2 Helicopters is truly original but I don't want to listen to it while i'm doing the washing up or having a shag (not that i ever do that anymore either but even if i did).
True artistry seems to me to be more about being able to create something recognisably yours (in effect the opposite of originality) but in ways that still resonate enough not to seem stale.
Anyway, what i really mean is:
Yay Klute, fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait! Biggup Elementz and Tekstep!!!!

hmm that might make a nice tune......
Looking forward to seeing some of Melburns senior selektas supporting Klute. There's plenty of nights that have up and coming or new DJ's if your after it.
Flyers look better than the last ones. I'm not that big on having mug shots of DJ's on promo material.
For what it's worth, if possible can there be some provision to hear the DJ sets from where ever it is that smoking ciggies is permissable. It's not having to inhale farty smells and sweaty kiwis all night whilst craving for ciggies and spilling beer all over the packed out dancefloor.

argh why the same night as hybrid... I'm torn, and I saw them both last time they were here, i wants to see them both again!
when do the set times come out????

The rubber plant was surprised. If the rubber plant could have spoken, it wouldn't have said anything. That's how surprised the rubber plant was.

If it wasn't for this website I wouldn't know about most DnB gigs.ac23 wrote:I meant Promotors actually giving a toss whats said on here coz in my experience this website doesn't mean anything in relation to getting people down to a club or the attitude of people at a night.witty_pseudonym wrote:ac23 wrote:hahahahahahaha fucking melbourne beats

You'd be wise to attend a gig like this...
Lex would never put you wrong with musical advice.
Looking well forward to this. Been listening to Klute albums back to back fro the past few days.
You obviously haven't seen his "secret" music collection.Blaxter wrote:Listen to the man.on tour wrote:Klute is one of those dj's that is not one of those dj's. He is Klute and he does what he wants and usually it is fucking great whether it be dj'ing, tunes he signs, his production.
