IMO

There are far too many wasted dipshits at gigs lately who know nothing about DnB apart from "PENDULUUUM!!! Man they've changed a lot since Coma!!!"

*vomits*

Said dipshits who feel the need to defend themselves against my personal opinion which they can't change can suck my balls.

Fresh faces are fine with me, brings more life to the scene and makes things happen.

Fresh faces chewing profusely who don't really give a shit about what they're hearing cause they're so high are not.

These are the dipshits I'm referring to.

*checks himsaelf*

I'm fine. Smell a bit, but otherwise ok.

I accept that drugs will always be associated with music. Not just dance music either.

It's the lack of knowledge and the fact that a lot of these peeps would barely *know* if they were at Bass Station or Blazin that gives me the shits.

dudes have to get into dnb somehow mate. and as more dnb gets played on jjj or whatever youre going to get more randoms coming along to shows.
sure some of them are going to be wankers who dont really care about the music and theyll hang around for a few months and then disappear again. the ones who have been exposed to dnb and geniunely find it exciting will stick around, learn more about it and help the scene to grow.
ive seen it happen with other scenes ive been involved in, you can either get all pissed off about it or just accept the fact the scene is changing, and whilst it might not seem like its for the better at the moment i reckon by the end of the year things will be on the rise.

who cares if they don't know their tarantula from their dark soldier from their solaris theme...
does it really matter?
i mean, ppl on this forum represent the small amount of ppl who have possessed by the beats- if other ppl choose to come out and get high or boogie or whatever else at dnb parties than bigups! the more the merrier

unfortunately the reality is wherever you get a large crowd you'll get a few dickheads (just look at the uk dnb scene)
hopefully we can continue to encourage fresh faces to come check out local nights with effect

they're at the party aren't they? they choose to come to dnb over F4 or bass station or seven (where meat-market culture is accepted) so obviously they're into the beats somewhat

I just wish we could get Beefy out here to come to parties. Promotors should book him, not as a DJ or an MC, just as a munted punter. Get him out. BEFFY BEEFY!

You'll excuse me if I don't enjoy munted randoms touching me, yelling incoherently into my ear and falling all over the place when I'm trying to shake my arse.

This is a tired argument I'll give you that, but one that I enjoy prodding every few months or so. If only to see people's reactions.

So a guy comes up to me at Blazin last thurs whilst playing...says to me "hey man are you into the whole bickie scene"..and i reply "no mate not anymore im too old for that now". Then he states he has these wonderfull pills on him that arnt E's but rather some seratonin rubbish from some tree or some shit (i was mid mix so didnt pay attention to detail) and offers me one. I poliety declined and asked him if he was enjoying the beats and hes like HELL YEA man what is this music to which i reply DnB...Then he runs off (off chops) and hits the dancefloor...

Point of the story, one more raver on the dancefloor being absolutley harmless.

i just moved over to perth and if you wanna see how its headed come over here. i think its really good for the music and its just what the labels needed.

but if i goto the toilet for 2 mins i come back to 10 guys dancing around my girl. you get asked for pills at least 5 times a night and partys are way too crowded

i have stoped going to every gig because of this but still love the music. yeah the more the merrier but dont let them sink yer fuckin boat

The same guy asked me three times for pills the other night....... I told him I had none, he walked off. Then the last (and 3rd) time I said "what's going on mate? Do like the beats? You should just have some fun, you pretty chopped as it is." He nodded and walked off to ask some one else. Sure, it was a little annoying. But I feel heaps more sorry for him than I do for myself having to deal with him and people like him.

This is bound to happen with any futuristic or experimental music that gains momentum and therefore commecial viability. No big deal, things just move on and become other things.

Why would you get so negative when there's millions upon millions of other musical experiences to be had. Why would you focus on this one when it obviously bothers you so much? I don't really understand the point.

Sounds a bit odd Steve. Not a few weeks ago you were bigging up shy fx (and playing alongside him), and now you're saying that people like him are the problem. A bit contradictory innit?

*bites tongue*

God this argument shits me to tears...

Sure, Pendulum and "wobble" whatever is being pushed heavily at the moment, but that doesnt represent the dnb scene as a whole. Theres plenty of good stuff out there, well i think so anyway. I think its exciting seeing the scene growing and gettin recognition.

Steve, maybe its just that your choice in music is changing? Maybe you're over it, but i certainly wouldnt say that its "dead" *shrugs*

I dunno, just my 2cents worth - i dont know shit really - im still lovin it anyways, You nerd boys, i dunno :)

I'm glad i keep out of all the politics, Its easier enjoying the music that way when i dont know all the bullshit technicalities. Ignorance is bliss
