lynt wrote:Was speaking to a few MB.C'ers on the weekend about this, a concern was the whole voting to get people to do it..

I think after we tally this list, the person with most votes goes first, then after that, we randomly pick other MB.C members who've been listed for the next mix, and so forth.

Thoughts?
fantastic idea: the whole random thing, that way people don't start their mixes with a preconception "I'm 567493845798734 in the list, yay..."
and plus, given the randomness, it will definately be more of a "surprise" ie: "didn't think nic could mix THAT well :D " kind of thing

That's to be decided..... I think if we publicly release the mix on Melbournebeats we should drive enough traffic here anyway. If people want to be members, then so be it.

Definately have to be a member to be able to submit a mix though, yeah?

Who here records mix's in one hit? WITHOUT fucking with it after in soundforge or trying to join tracks back up cause you've train wrecked one.

Thoughts?

Personally i'd rather hear a couple of clangs or level drops and know its someone REAL on the end of the mix and not Andy C.
The mixing, scratching and MCing on our Enforcers CD is recorded on one-take and is not altered, other than a compressor applied to the whole track - but even club system have compressors.

Voting doesn't count for anything anymore.

The first one was decided by vote, the rest are random.

Oblivous mix should be floating around here somewhere. Not sure where, possibly mixes thread. Or just PM oblivous, I'm sure he can point you in the right direction.
