The remix that had to happen...

Post by Hardy »

I'll personally be buying two copies of this just so I can do an entire set of it.

Yes he is.

I once saw him play and it was probably the worst DJ show I have ever seen.

The thing is he is incedibly technically competent but insisted on stopping the music all the time, standing on the table and bigging himself up on the mike.

Then he tried to grab Tali's ass or something and got told to piss off by Mosus or Clipz (can't remember which?).

then he stopepd all music bigged himself up and did a scratch rendition of mary had a little lamb.

This was all compounded with him playing "New Jungle" or whatever that music is that is insanely fast (180+?) with all the sirens and woofs but no grrove and no cool drums. I suppose some people like that tho.

I dunno man. Maybe I am.

I love jungle, I have lots of jungle - I just don't get some of this ragga junglist shit which has some guy shoudlting muuurddderr over the top of an amen which has been cut up so much it looses the live feeling.

Shits too fast as well. In my option sits best down round 160.

Will check out those people you suggested maybe I just cracked it too early and never found the good stuff.

I've heard Livewire's stuff isn't like this but haven't checked him.

I love it at 160 too but 180 stuff has pure energy.

There is a lot of shit out there, but lots of gems too.
It's fast but fits in so well with hiphop on the half time.

Canada & US been releasing the best RaggaJungle.

Different strokes fi different folks i guess.

180 all the way man!
i have heaps of old school jungle i lurve it i dance my ass off whenever its on, go to any jungle night there has been for as long as i can remember BUT shouldnt music move on, be progressive build on whats there? nuff people rockin the new school at slower tempo, clip and carbine for example but when the tempo picks up to 175-190 you've got room for half time mixes. i just picked up this wikkid sister nancy seven called one, two that fits with krinjah's my gal, loqtus' tell dem inna babylon and a couple of general malice tracks perfectly. i dunno if ive ever heard a track with anyone screamin murder over the top. and then ya gt boston bounce, like dj c and murderbot, the mashit label shockout. sheesh if ya gonna dis somethin dis jump up :)

The first time I played my Dad some dnb (Brown Paper Bag - Roni Size and Reprezent) he said to me "Jeez, I like that drummer...very fast and accurate!" He actually wrapped his fingers over his knee in time til I told him it was made electronically. He gave me that look that only my Dad can give. A look that says "you're kidding...you've let me down girl"

no aint heard that. I love extremes, will have to scope it out ;). thanks for the heads up.

wait 240? shieze, that's uber gabba teritory.

im gonna play some jungle at 240 and see what it sounds like now you've gotten me intregued.

thing is though, 240 is really just a very chaotic 120 in a way really.

yeh secret to going that fast is gated bass, but he keeps is broken and syncopated jules is a fucking master. few people that can cut an amen like him pity he never uses it anymore.
gabba aint breakbeat. its closer to breakcore, but has a definite dnb feel, swing and aesthetic to it.

So, you don't think Marky will play it @ Good Vibes?
Not even if I come up really drunk, bump the decks, spill beer on the mixer & tell him to play some 'real DnB' like this track..?
