33&1/3 Presents: Plump DJ's NYE @ The Prince!

M-townâ€™s break beat pimps 33&1/3 are taking on a more nocturnal angle this year with a NYE breaks bender at the Prince. Headlining the event are the pair who rode on the crest of a dance music revival and created a sound that has smashed the pseudo laddishness out of the nu-skool and thrown breakbeat to the forefront of todayâ€™s dance scene â€“ The Plump Djs.

This will only be the 2nd time in their 9 year partnership that the Plumps will have performed together in Melbourne. Their debut mix album â€œA Plump Night Outâ€ on Finger Lickinâ€™ Records was the biggest selling breaks record to date, their â€œFabric Liveâ€ compilation was the biggest seller in the series and their cover-mount CD with Mixmag sold more copies of the mag than any other issue.

Theyâ€™ll be joined by the very talented French mash up â€˜come upperâ€™ Missill whose rhythm-straddling style, takes in hip-hop, breaks, electro, grime, dancehall and ragga in a forward looking, 21st century take on the block-party sound. Sheâ€™s shared stages with acts as diverse as Cold Cut, Metallica, Supergrass, Jimmy Cliff and the Wu Tang Clan.

Local noise comes in the form of Ben Stacey / Dj Ooh Ee / Brewster B / Lynt and Lilâ€™ Missbreaks.

Abstar- i saw that show (your avatar) for the 1st time last night, started watching from season 1. I think i am hooked, apparently it gets much darker from season 2 once they decide to just target older audience? sickness, oddness and eh.

we all got a room there once when Thomas Shumacher played at Palace ... I remember a lot of sneaking around the next morning through the hallways trying to find the spa and not make too much noise. The rooms are fine, and it was nice to have a place close by to chill out in. I reckon I might unintentionally get too comfortable in the room though and not go back out.

I wonder if everyone could get rooms on the same floor... would be quite an experience (and would make for less complaints from the neighbours!)
