33&1/3 Presents: Plump DJ's NYE @ The Prince!
33&1/3 Presents: Plump DJ's NYE @ The Prince!
M-town’s break beat pimps 33&1/3 are taking on a more nocturnal angle this year with a NYE breaks bender at the Prince. Headlining the event are the pair who rode on the crest of a dance music revival and created a sound that has smashed the pseudo laddishness out of the nu-skool and thrown breakbeat to the forefront of today’s dance scene – The Plump Djs.
This will only be the 2nd time in their 9 year partnership that the Plumps will have performed together in Melbourne. Their debut mix album “A Plump Night Out†on Finger Lickin’ Records was the biggest selling breaks record to date, their “Fabric Live†compilation was the biggest seller in the series and their cover-mount CD with Mixmag sold more copies of the mag than any other issue.
They’ll be joined by the very talented French mash up ‘come upper’ Missill whose rhythm-straddling style, takes in hip-hop, breaks, electro, grime, dancehall and ragga in a forward looking, 21st century take on the block-party sound. She’s shared stages with acts as diverse as Cold Cut, Metallica, Supergrass, Jimmy Cliff and the Wu Tang Clan.
Local noise comes in the form of Ben Stacey / Dj Ooh Ee / Brewster B / Lynt and Lil’ Missbreaks.
Tickets on sale Friday 27th October from DMC Beats / Central Station / Polyester Records / Prince public bar / Ministry of Style. Credit card bookings phone 9536 1168 or online www.princebandroom.com.au

In St Kilda? Nothing if you are one of those guru's trained in the art of sleeping on needles. Will wrote:What's wrong with the beach?mrj wrote:I like your thinking Kemosabe.
Or you could just hire a backpacker room for 2 hours and crash out there

we all got a room there once when Thomas Shumacher played at Palace ... I remember a lot of sneaking around the next morning through the hallways trying to find the spa and not make too much noise. The rooms are fine, and it was nice to have a place close by to chill out in. I reckon I might unintentionally get too comfortable in the room though and not go back out.Grey Son wrote:The wife and i stayed there for NYD with Tayo and Stantons..DBoy wrote:hmmmm, maybe the Novatel is an option.

I wonder if everyone could get rooms on the same floor... would be quite an experience (and would make for less complaints from the neighbours!)

Cool then, this has been settled now after all the rumour threads that have been appearing lately!
Going to be a really good night! I have seen the plumps a few times now in the uk, was always a cool time

After reading about the evils of drinking the other night, I decided to give up reading instead...
