Robbed.... Gutted

Post by yenks »

Well today was not a good day for me. It started out lovely, had a great day at work. then come home and everything seems good, then i walk around to the front door. Notice that my glass door has been smashed and there is glass everywhere..... My heart starts racing and I Think shit, someone has tried to break in but didnt come in. As i didnt initially notice anything gone.

Then i begin to look around my house. Suddenly i notice that my old laptop next to my turntables is gone (not too big a deal was old neway) then i keep looking round.

My PS2 is gone and all of my games !!!!!!

Then i keep looking and i notice my 20 Gig Ipod is gone. :smt022

I instantly run into my room and look for my main HP compaq laptop worth over $5000. Its gone, the case it was in, the external sound card i just bought, all stolen. !!!!!!
now this is brutal, I have so much unbacked up work and tunes that i have been working on in Ableton !! All gone, Sooo many hours all flushed down the toilet :smt088

I keep looking, i notice my Canon camera with my 256meg memory card with all my photos from new years (not backed up) is gone too. I nearly burst into tears as i realised I lost all of those precious memories !

I then notice that my new sunglasses are gone, my mouse from my desktop is gone, my brand new sony earphones are gone, my Xbox controllers are gone (but not my Xbox wtf :?)

So yeah Pretty gut renching day. But still Looking on the bright side, there was alot of stuff they didnt take, it seems it was mostly light and portable stuff. My decks, records, needles, desktops, tvs, were all untouched. Which is a bonus, but at the same time I still feel like shit..

I cant believe how much scum there is in this world. That people are willing to steal from people like this, and just fark people over hardcore.
I am insured thank god, but still i have lost alot of stuff so precious to me and lost a few memories...

The police came over finger printed the joint, but were unable to get any real fingerprints that were of use, only half ones...

Has anyone else been robbed.. anyone else had such a horrible experience happen to them ?

feelin for ya mate.

never had my house done over but i had a full box of records stolen once and it nearly broke me. it really did nearly break me.

nothin anyone can say right now will make you feel much better about shit. only your mates, time and a strong will to bounce back can do it.

go grab a jagi shot for now... and in the long term. kick back like a mule and use it to as motivation.... fuckin junkie cunts are fucked but look at it this way some fucked up shit has probably sent them to the place they are in and they will get theirs in the end.

peace mate. big ups and good luck

Yeah this was my first initial thought.. but nah no one i have had come over and interviewed has been shady... mainly all nice chicks, but yeah, it crossed my mind...

Chances are it was just some random junkie, that just happened to get me while im in the middle of finding another roomie...

I keep getting this feeling, if i only i backed up my work, if i only i backed up my photos, if only i backed up this......
i dont think that feeling is going to go away for a while...

So hopefully this will be motivation for other people out there to BACK UP YOUR SHIT, to cd, to other comptuters, to nething.. so this never happens to you, and u never feel the pain im going through right now...

peace..

That sucks man, and I know your pain. I've had my house done over too.

The worst part for me was not that they twocked my stuff, but the fact that someone was in my house. I felt completely violated, my heart just completely dropped.

I'm glad at you are insured though... stay cool and drink up!

Very sorry to hear that. They'll get wha's coming to them. Karma has a way of working over the people that did this to you. Be glad you were insured and, at least, you've got plenty of time to make new memories and take new pictures. :D

Yeah dude, i feel the same. Just the thought that someone or group of people went through all my shit. looking through my posessions, ripping through my power boards to get the power cords for the laptops they needed.
Then ripping out all of my RCAs i had connected to get my ps2 cord they needed. I just felt violated. That someone has gone through all my shit, left it in a mess, to get what they want... not a good feeling, and i wouldnt wish it on neone

thats fucked dude, i hate gettin shit stolen, makes me so mad,

this has almost happened to me once, while i was at home asleep!
I didnt hear a thing which is the scariest part but i was asleep at home and woke up about 11am, went to the bathroom etc and noticed something outta place. Someone had smashed the back door window in and come and taken my housemates laptop and a few things from her room (at the back of the house) but didn't go any further...thank fuck

Must have been disturbed by my other housemate who was also home going to the bathroom. He mentioned that he was woken by something (prob the window smashing) and went to the toilet, which probably disturbed the junkie, but i keep thinking imagine being woken by some fucking junkie in your room while your naked and spread eagled on the bed, how vunerable would you feel. So from then on in that house i always slept with a weapon of some sort next to the bed ready for action.

Man, that is so shithous.
I'm truly sorry to hear that mate.
Hope it somehow works out for you.

My advice - get yourself a dog. My dog keeps out all invaders.
Best alarm system you will ever buy.
I always know my studio is fiercly gaurded when I'm out of the house.

I'd be absolutely gutted if someone stole my stuff.
Fuck man, again, really sorry to hear that hey.
I didn't know you were making tunes?
Will see you soon.

yeah this was one of the first thoughts i had...
I wish i had a fuckin dog...
oh well, not really a dog person neways... Im glad the bastards didnt try to kill my cat or something. And at least they closed the door after themselves, as my cat may have ran away or someshit, then it would have been double whammy..

yeah i was, and now im back to square 1... oh well.. still got most of the ideas in my head, better try and get em back down before i lose them forever.

Cheers for all the support guys, really does help hearing kind words from you all

That sucks man, our house got robbed 3 times in 18 months during 2000/01 :tard: Im guessing it was the same people, they know that there is going to be new stuff waiting for them each time. It sorta ruins any sense of security you feel in your home for a couple of months...

For me the worst thing to get stolen would be my records, thats why I go on missions to hide all my tunes if nobody is home for more than a couple of days.

Thats so fucked...
I cant beleive that happens like 3 weeks after I move out too.

So sorry man, if you get any greif with insurance, let me know.

I cant beleive how bad that is, and no concelation, but at least your decks were left there.

Hey dude, another thing.
It's usually someone you know, lives right near you, or who you have recently let in your house.
Looks like a smash & grab though, and not really carefuly planned out if they didn't take your decks.
Could've just been a passing junkie, who knows?

Just keep a good eye out, and be suspicious as about the dudes who live around you.
Sad, but true.

If they can do it once, they'll do it again - when you least suspect it.
The people who live accross the road from me have been cleaned out three times in the last 2 years.
They have alarms, everything, but no woofer.
Think about it. 8)

farken thieving bastards. sorry to hear that Yenksy. Thank fuck for insurance tho', still won't bring back the tunes or photo's, but at least your not out of pocket. Hopefully they'll find the stuff in a pawn shop, or the cops find the pricks. Good Luck mate.
yenks wrote:So hopefully this will be motivation for other people out there to BACK UP YOUR SHIT........

Amen to that.

I thought I'd lost my laptop the other day and was freaking out coz it wasn't insured, the only saving grace was that I had everything backed up.

$200 for a 250Gb external back-up drive, too fuckin' easy.
I think I am, Therefore I am. I think

that sucks dude. Back ups are the way to go. Even if you loose the hardware you don't loose the hours and hours you put into your tunes.

Keep an eye out at any crack converters / pawn shops in the area. Even leave a description of the goods. They will have to present photo id to get cash for them so you might get lucky. Also any trading posts / classifieds.

LOL kitchen broom !!! and man an easter egg, those thieving bastards thats gotta hurt...

But yeah this experience has sorta left my sense of security in doubt...
I now have a couple of large golf drivers strategicly placed, so i can clobber ne more junki cunts that try to rob me while im still here. lol

I really hope this wasnt from someone i know, like evil was saying...
I pray that it was just some random passie junkie, and he/they dont plan to come back and strike again...
Has put a damper on my weekend, i havent left the house as im worried it cud happen...

planning to get a grate put over the glass door, so even glass is smashed they cant get in, I now deadlock the door every single time. and will continue to do so for a long time...

please KARMA god, get revenge for me on the bastard that stole my stuff..
i love u long time..

Those fuckers.

Back wnen I was a kid living in Viewbank, our house got done three times in 6 MONTHS!

After the third time the insurance company said they wouldn't give us new stuff until we moved.

Guess it motivated the folks to buy a house, but for fucks sake!

First time, they stole a 'National' VCR which was made in the eary eighties, and didn't even work, and we scored a brand new Panasonic!

Still, the feeling of violation and vulnerability is something that takes a while to get over... :(

Dirty junkie scum

It is only when we lose our material possesions that we are able to really learn, to understand the truely important things in life as we walk along the path to nirvana,

still, easy for me to say, i haven't hadf my shit stolen. Dont worru though, the magic of Karma will sort it all out. Probly for the best.

maaaaan....

thats harsh as.

I have a trusting face, and heaps of junkies ask me for money. From now on, I'm gonna glare at them and say "you stole yenks' laptop and ipod you cunt!"

if they look bewildered, then it's death by repeated stabbing with a ballpoint pen.
