All you rump shakin, booty slappin, soul tweakin and funk droppin headz take note, Sundays in the the CBD are now officially owned by Car Boot Funk. For the past 2 months, Mr Lob and his residential attack of Obliveus, Lindemon, Mexi, Nathan, John Idem, Manchild (PBS FM) and Mark Anthony been doing what they said couldn't be done, namely droppin every conceivable slice of groove off Swanston Street and believe it or not, the punters are packin it in. If yer lookin to groove on a couch, eat and mellow out to some Curtis Mayfield, then we'll start you there. When yer lookin to bust a move on the floor to some disco Sly, we'll take you higher. Want to finish with some full-bore body lockin and b-boy posture? Well, we got that covered, too, with enough hiphop, Motown and nu skool funk for the masses. Basically, Sundays in the CBD just got a whole lot better.

What I was getting at in an elequently, and probably mispelled way, was that people that play and enjoy funk also like to lay farts...some even like to smell them. I've caught Lob doing this on many occasions....farting. I've also caught Lindemon smelling them on many occasions. How does this relate to Brain? A good question.

Twas a pleasure last night, dude. Very cool to see Lounge all 'lounged' up with couches, etc. Good vibe in that room when you get some people down for the groove. One of my funnest sets up there, cuz the peeps seemed to be enjoying it. Manager loved us, that's fer sure! Bring on the summer and that place will be packed...

yeah was great and that big group stayed till the end and had a ball, said they were coming back with more peeps next week!

also when we closed at midnight the place was almost full and this has not happened before on a Sunday.

even before the summer gets here, we got the funk you know!

how good is it to see all that support from party people on here, just blows my mind

^^^ Yeah, figured that group would stay for the long haul. They kept brightening up to all the right songs...obviously know their tunes.

Also, just remember, my friend. Very few from this here forum are on the same wavelength as us. To each their own...it's all good. If this thread can enlighten just one or two mb.com peeps to come down sometime, then it's job is done. Can't remember the last time either one of us made it to one of the events posted on here that wasn't thrown by us. Weird, being that we're both such hardcore breaks, dnb and dubstep hedz.

Did Bo end up making it down?

according to my wife, at the best of times no one is on my wavelength!!!

Bo smsed, but was working elsewhere, her vibe was strong and support very welcome nonetheless.

I must defer though, I do support some events such as dropping phat and anytime at the workshop and even the occasional international breaks dj with a local lineup.

As you say all is good though, the more diverse the scene and the more support each night gets is great!

5 - 7pm: Dj Manchild (PBS)
7 - 8pm: Wax Vandal (Diafrix, Equills)
8 - 10.30pm: Mr Lob
10.30pm - 12am: Dj Mexi ($2 Scratchies)
