Freeware Audio Software - DAWs / Wav editors MAC and PC

Post by Smile on Impact »

Hey yo,
Have pulled somthing else from the ProJuice Forums. ( http://projuice.org/forums )
I've spent a little bit of time hunting around for free software.
There is No excuse not to make music, if that's what you want to do.
Or why not try out another DAW and see how it works for you?

I need a good MP3 to WAV. converter. I d/l one for free but it only treats 60% of a track.
Can't be bothered saving extra silence after the track to trick the softeware to convert the whole file.
Any suggestions?

Windows XP - if you want the ultimate audio converter, get sox off Sourceforge. It'll convert anything to anything. It's command line based though. Or check out Audacity. Or even WinAmp has an output plugin called Disk Writer. If you queue up an MP3, set the volume to 100% and turn off any EQ settings, then press PLAY, it'll dump it out to a WAV file for you.

My favourite is Adobe Audition, but it ain't free.
