Hello!
I've just been on a three day tour of the central highlands in Vietnam.
Probably one of the best things I've ever done.
Highly recommended.

I remember when I had 7 weeks. It only seems like yesterday! The time will pass before you know it. I've been training for 3.5 months for this trip and I can't believe it is next week! :O

Re: The Travel Thread
Yeah i think that was it. The prom is massive really and when you stay there your technically staying in Tidal River. I think, it was years ago that I went there. Outside places you gotta go through the beginning of it and then pay for daily or weekly entry. To take an animal your gunna have to stay in the surrounding parts. Could be somewhere closer though maybe. Its worth ALL of it though, the Prom is the best.
I recommend the Seal Rocks walk and the Tongue!! Magnificent. Look out for what looks like tissues along the walking tracks though. They arnt snot tissues

May I recommend tassie for a great holiday...
Took my car and drove down the east coast, stopped along the way at random places and ended up in hobart. A very nice town,
Tassie in general is awesome, nice people, beautiful landscape, nice food and wine. can't go wrong.

Re: The Travel Thread
Thinking of Thailand too for next feb/march, any tips would also be appreciated.
Also heard of cruises, yacht style for 7days with food/accom for about 2grand inc airfares... is that cheap or not? Would only need money for booze and extras. Still seems a bit pricey though... I keep hearing how cheap Thailand is but it must take a lot of research.
Tickets cost about the same to Japan, although leaning against that if the exchange rate's gonna be like it is now, much pricier once actually there

Re: The Travel Thread
Thailand ain't that cheap if you want to drink.
I mean it is compared to Australia, but it sure as hell doesn't have 25c beers.

Re: The Travel Thread
Well getting the train from Bangkok could waste some time, coz you'll get it to suratani (sp) then you will need to get on the boat.
It is really easy to get a plain from Bangkok to Ko Samui then a boat. It really depends how tight you are, you will waste a day if you go the cheap way. It cost more to go by plane but it is quicker and you get more time at your destination. Remember sitting in a train overnight in the heat sucks balls.
I got to KPN from the other side of Thailand but getting back to Bangkok only took me a few hours coz i flew. I think it took me about 4 hours from hotel to hotel which was pretty good for Thailand.

also Krabi area, Railay Beach, all those unfortunately named 'Leonardo' beaches are beautiful and definately worth day / overnight trips.
Beware teh sunburnt fucknosed Russian tourists though, I kind of think that area of Thailand is ruined tbh. Just close your eyes and imagine they arent there.
booked a week in Paris over Christmas yesterday (cheese, wine, bread, biftas, walking) going to venice for biennale next week as well
BOING - Can't wait.
