yeah we don;t do organics, so find the price the best in melbourne, far far cheaper than Vic Markets....
Althought Brunswick Markets has cheaper better qual vegetables.... cost us about $25 to get a weeks worth...

I have still not been there. Will remember the tip on the pig. God I love pork belly, suckling pig and pig goodness in general (no guts, feet or ears tho!)

went to that golden house chinese steam boat joint last night on power st
was a lot of fun adding foodz to big pot of spicy broth- dumplings, vegies, glass noodles, spring onion pancake and massive black fungus flowers that were a bit wrong tbh
could also have prawns, finely shaved beef, pork etc, whatevs you want really and how ever much you want- they just keep bringing it- 15 bucks a head
the table of 3 dudes next to us smashed 4 plates of the beef and it was like a dinnner plate with a 10cm stack of beef on it! then they puts the guts in too. and they eated it!

The verdict (Mexicali Rose):
Good value for money, friendly service - nice place... BUT... if that's Melbourne's BEST Mexican, then perhaps Mexican ain't all I thought it was cracked up to be...
Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the food... but there was nothing to write home about either (except for the Churros, which fucking ruled!).
Enchilada's were the low point.
Margeritas: better at Taco Bill's.
And we all found it interesting that there was NO hot food (spicy) whatsover (well, not on the banquet we ordered) - not even mildly hot.
All in all, it was a good night - and yeah, I'd go back - but I/we didn't rate it as highly as others have.

Hey Nat
Went there a while back. Found the service to be average. It's like they were complete stoners. Taking the library feeling too far me thinks.
Perhaps things have changed now.

La Camera sucked the fat one again. I hate corporate lunches. Just buy me a deck of ciggies and fresh Bic lighter. $10 lunch menu with free glass of house wine. Lame gesture of appreciation. And why the fuck would you bother to have a Vegan salad option but nothing else dairy/ meat free for mains. Oh and how ridiculous to have 2 balconys that you can't sit and smoke at while you peruse the menu and ponder the ramifications of not ordering food or just leaving the soggy of walnuts and orange wedges underneath the serviette and hitting the booze.
