Heavyweight Hip-Hop TV XMAS - Fri. Dec. 22nd - Workshop
In what's shaping up to be the biggest weekend of the year, in 2006's final moments, we'd like to invite people to kick off their festivities at Workshop with the Heavyweight TV cast and crew. Heavyweight's hip-hop programming recently completed its second year on Channel 31 as its most watched music program, hitting homes in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and a place called Mount Gambia. We are gearing up for fresh content in 2007, no more re-runs, and as a thanks to those who supported us in 2006, we've put together a hot little end of year showcase.
On the matter of the selectors, we bring to you:
J-RED
G-SMOOTH
TARKEE
KRISY & SMITTEN
JOLZ
Q-RATE
And a special introduction from our favourite of brethren, CAMMO.
We'll have other special guests, possibly Santa if he needs a pre-drink for his big night of work, and hot little elves prancing around while Rudolph waits outside.
All for the most delicious of prices, that being nothing - this will be free entry.
It's the last day of the work year for most people and that is good excuse to get trashy. There are several other things happening on the night. I'd like you to come early for a pre-drink, check it out, and if you like it stick around. It's going to be a full on night that might not end until Christmas Day for some...
Date: Friday December 22nd 2006
Times: 8pm-3am
Place: Workshop (413 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, corner of A'Beckett)
Cost: Free entry

Ok at our Heavyweight meeting this afternoon, we're looking into setting up a donation bin at the front door of Workshop as well as collect optional donations for victims of the recent fires. It's probably really shit to be without a home or worldly possessions around the holidays, especially for the kids.
I'm going to confirm it with the Victorian fire department and see if it's cool to proceed, maybe have one of their reps come out.
It's optional and anonymous, still free entry, up to you if you contribute anything. Loose change is totally cool.
Things like fires in Canada aren't such a big deal but I'm becoming ever more aware of water and heat issues here in Australia.
Special J-RED set has been cleared, to be announced in the next week or so...

Ok... I've picked up the flyers and posters, they are now circulating.
Anybody familiar with Pioneer DV-Js? They are like CDs, but use DVD music video clips instead, can be scratched on, mixed, etc, just like vinyl... except the output is a music video.
J-RED is considered Australia's top DV-J artist... we are most blessed to have him dropping a demonstration of this extremely tricky yet oh so satisfying medium. He performed this at the DMC Australian championships amongst other large events in 2006.
Season 2 of his Video Throwdown show where he does this each week will be screened on Channel 31 starting in March, produced through Heavyweight.

I'll put you on the door list anyway...
I scoped out Workshop last night with J-Red as to our unique set up. We have a couple of options, one with elaborate effort, one more conservative.
People, Workshop has never seen anything like this before. We have an exclusive door list of around 100 people, if you're on this list, you are guaranteed entry. The reason is that it's going to be packed and they may start turning away the random stragglers and groups that have no association with Heavyweight, the industry or Workshop. Email sea @ heavyweighttv.com with your name and you will be added. Worst case get to the door and say you're on Sea's list.
It's going to be a sweet, sweet night.
