Any Protools experts out there? DAE Error 87 & 6

Post by Little Evil »

Hey!
Have updated my protools system recently, and went to bounce some tunes I've been working on to disk, and I keep getting this error - DAE error 87, then a little box flashes up with DAE Error 6?
Been reading up on it on the protools website, and it says it has something to do with my drives, and that I should transfer all my files to another drive?
WTF?
I have a gig to play tonight, LL3, where the emphasis is on playing a bit of my own stuff - and I can't even use it.
Have a few of my own tracks on CD, but I'm at a fucking loss what to do?
Absolute bummer.

Anyone encountered a similar situation?
I'm expecting a no.
But, I need some help.

Hey,
I have tried, but there's not much info on these exact DAE errors.
The digidesign website usaully has all the answers.
Have 3 brand spankers to play tonight, and I can't even get them to play, let alone bounce now.
I'm fucking devo'd.

Oh well, DJ set of mainly other peoples stuff tonight.
Fuck!!!!

Thanx for replying. 8)

Haven't even come close.
I'm buying a new external hard drive in the next week or so, and will transferring files to that, and hopefuly that works.

Otherwise, I will have to save each track in each tune seperately, and bring them into a new protools file - and that will just be a pain in the arse.

Real fuckin bummer.
Have to get my tune finished for the Melb Beats Compliation too, and I can open it but not play it, or work with it.
Shits me to tears.
Will let you know how I go. :?

Hey mate,

Post something on the inthemix breaks site and see if they can come up with something - from the looks of things Klaus, Matt Dopamine etc all check it pretty reguarly and are pretty helpful with that sort of stuff. Might pay to get in touch with Mangan???

Don't think any of them use Protools.
From what I've gathered they are all Logic users.
I know Klaus and Mangan are.

Have borrowed some money, and I'm getting my external drive in the next couple of days.
See how that go's.

I'm pretty good with the boring, techy side of programs, but this one has me stumped.
I will sort it - always do.

Hey Drew,

There's are few things -

You can try to re-install PT and this will give you an option to repair the installation - fixes file structure of the install ect..

Next make sure you got the latest version of 7, 7.1 I think.

If all that fails back up your data from the audio drive then do a fresh format. put the data back on and cross ya fingers.

Also if ya choose "save session in" in the file save menue of PT it will save that session and all the audio files into a new folder that you specify.

Good luck - let me know if ya need a new audio drive.
