i would call thayer a raving lunatic, yes. He raves, is often a lunatic, and on the odd occasion likes to combine these two activities to create a weird and wonderful experience for fellow ravers to enjoy.

Yeh - I got the Pendulum tune wrong
However - the Fucking the Groove controversy boils down to this...
When Stu and I released it we called it Fucking the Groove
however - the way remixes work at Floating Point / Breaking Point / Breaking Point Remixed (coming soon to a store near you) is on a points system (i.e. royalties) as opposed to the one-off remix fees that you'll get from most other labels.
Hence to differentiate between the original and the remix the tune is given a new name. So in a sense, for legal purposes, it becomes an original tune that samples something else. In this case, for legal reasons, it becomes an original tune by Street Punx called Get Up Move that samples Fucking the Groove by Bass Kleph & Nick Thayer - hence royalties are split.
Clear as mud.
So you'll be seeing plenty of releases this year on the Breaking Point remixed label that follow that formula.
Thanks for all the responses guys. Glad ya into it!
Peace
Nick
