how did you get started in production?
Just wondering some good places to learn more about producing my own tracks, I've been DJ'ing for years now and I think I've reached that point where I want to do my own thing. What kinda set ups did you start out with? Any good sites you can recommend? I really need to learn more about what certain...

We were at a bar in ackland st on friday night (forget what its called now!) but Dirty laundry were playing on that night. anyway, the guy playing the decks before hand had to bring his own technics 1200 turntable along so he could play some vinyl! They only had CDJ1000's there (4 mind you!) Sign of...

I would be reluctant myself on a Denon if you want to play out only because the venue would be most likely to have pioneers... I'd just take them with you though. Mine have been to Spain with me.... Yeah, you could do that if you could be bothered I guess. Depends on how long you planned on playing...

For $1200 you could get 2 CDJ200's to get you going, they are pretty cool but only have a jog wheel. They have a lot of features and would be fine for what you probably want to do. I was thinking about getting one myself as they are pretty portable and would never die as shown in the video! Check it...

Cool, thanks for the feedback!! I dont have decks, so any extras are not needed. My price range isnt huge, about $1200. Is that for one or two cdj's? I got a pioneer CDJ800mk2 for $1099. It has all the same basic features of the 1000mk3. It suits me just fine as im not too worried about hot cueing ...

Im self taught. Just from watching other friends and DJ's in clubs. Learnt how to mix house and breaks on some old 1200's and an old numark battle mixer with lots of history that were on loan at a friends place. That place was party central for the whole summer, some time ago now! It was good, becau...

for $25 grand you could'nt go wrong with a Nissan S15 200sx. nice modern looking car thats very realiable and parts are cheap if you wanted to do it up. R32 GTR would be cool, probably the best skyline in my opinion, (its also the lightest model) although its hard to find a good one these days. The ...

I hate the term 'minimal' when used to describe tech/glich house. minimal what exactly? minimal sound? minimal drums? minimal vocals? more like minimal effort to make a decent track  Dont get me wrong, i like still like house music, just not any cheesy shit, anything thats ploddy and goes nowhe...

It all sounds like mixer choice is a personal preferance if you ask me! Bit like the technics vs numark vs stantons, or the whole cdj1000 vs dennon's vs technics dz1200's thing. (But everybody knows the technics dz1200's are completely shit though!) Never played on ranes, although i noticed there st...

 I know its not the best mixer out, I just bought it cos it was really cheap at the time. Its better than what most 'bedroom' Dj's have at home! I dont leave it flat out in the reds or anything myself but everybody is guilty of doing it on these mixers sometimes. I think a pioneer rasied Dj wou...

I've got a djm600 myself, nothing wrong with it. Had it for a few years now. Got it quite cheap at the time. They are very popular around bars and clubs all over the world. Its got its good point and bad points. Saying its a kiddies mixer is a bit on the heavy side! Its got a ton of extras that noth...
